Homework

Homework Assignments for the week will be left on my voicemail greeting Friday afternoons after 4pm. The number is 661-665-8190, ext. 3807.

Homework Packets will be sent home on Fridays and will be due the following Thursday. Packets include:

-Spelling-students are expected to choose 3 spelling activities from a list of activities given each week. www.spellingcity.com - 1)Find a List 2)Teacher: Korren Riley 3)Choose the story of the week

-Reading-students will complete comprehension pages that are aligned with the comprehension skill of the week. They will also be allowed to take their Reading Books home Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to help with their Responding Questions. I do, however, expect them to have their books with them in class every day. I also do not allow Reading Books to go home over the weekend because that is when they tend to get lost.

-Language-students will complete grammar pages.

*I will also send home a pretest with students when we begin a new chapter. We use these pretests as a review by correcting them before the actual test because they are so similar. These pretests will not always be due when the homework packets are due since we do not always complete chapters on the same day of the week. To encourage student to complete and return the pretests by a date that I write and keep on the board throughout the chapter, I offer extra credit. If they return it by that date given, they will get the homework points plus 5 extra credit points toward their test score.
