California's Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program

Your student will be participating in the (STAR) Program from April 21st - May 2nd. It is important that students do their best to increase the accuracy of the results. You are a vital partner in the testing process and can help by:

making sure your child has plenty of rest on the nights before testing
provide a good breakfast on testing days
helping your child see the test as an opportunity to show what he/she has learned and encourage your child to do his/her best
avoid scheduling appointments or activities that will take your child away from school during testing time
be sure your child arrives to school on time

We will be accepting kindergarten registrations March 24, 2008 through April 4, 2008 for the 2008/2009 school year. Kindergarten students must be born on or before Decemeber 2, 2003.

Requested before the first day of school:

Proof of Address (utility bill, home agreement, court papers, etc.)
Birth Certificate
Physical Form (in registration packet)
Current immunization record (not from Physical Form)
Social Security Number (number only)
Dental Examination

If your child will be beginning schoool in the 2008/2009 school year, please call your school office and/or stop by to pick up a registration packet. The new school year begins Monday, August 18, 2008.

4th and 7th Grade Writing Test

California's Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program

Your student will be participating in the 4th and 7th Grade Writing Test component of the STAR program on March 4, 2008. Scores for this component are combined with students' scores on the multiple-choice component on the test to produce California English-Language test scores.

It is important that students do their best to increase the accuracy of the results. You are a vital partner in the testing process and can help by:

making sure your child has plenty of rest on the nights before testing
provide a good breakfast on testing days
helping your child see the test as an opportunity to show what he/she has learned and encourage your child to do his/her best
avoid scheduling appointments or activities that will take your child away from school during testing time
