Dear Parents:

I would like to welcome you and your children to the 
2011-2012 school year. We are looking forward to an exciting and challenging year.

The teachers have worked very diligently to get ready for this school year. The majority of the
teachers were working in their classrooms during their vacation time. This is just another
example of how committed our teachers are to their students. This school year we will be 
continuing to progress with our Accelerated Reader program. This is an excellent reading
program that has benefited many students on their reading skills statewide.

I feel very fortunate to have such a magnificent staff here in the Lakeside Union School District. We have always had excellent
parent support and we anticipate this once again. Parents can volunteer to assist with the Parent
Clubs at each site, School Site Councils, ELAC (English Language Advisory Committee), DELAC, or as a classroom
volunteer. If you have any questions on how you can help, please call the school offices.
