Welcome to the Computer Lab!

Here in the computer lab at Lakeside School, students are working with many types of software programs to help them in their future success. We have spent the beginning of the year learning the basic functions of a computer and how computers work. We are currently spending most of our classes developing skills using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Students have been creating spreadsheets, writing professional letters, informal letters, simple formatting and poem writing as well as creating simple web sites with Microsoft Word. Future projects for our 8th grade classes will include PowerPoint presentations for their current reading assignments.

As you know, many students come into the lab from 8:00 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. for open lab time. This means students may come in and work on projects or research the Internet, as they need with my supervision. The lab will no longer be open for students at lunch (unless otherwise posted). Please check this web page for days that the lab will not be open for student use before school.
