Foggy Day ProceduresSpanish Version of Foggy Day ProceduresThe foggy season will soon be here. When we make the decision that it is too foggy for safety, the buses and opening of all schools in the Lakeside Union School District will be delayed for two hours. If a delay is necessary, it will be announced on local television and radio stations, and on the Internet.
During such delays, it will be necessary to change the schedule for the opening of each school. Parents should discuss this situation with their children and make arrangements for supervision. There will be no breakfast served if there is a fog delay. If a minimum day is scheduled, the minimum day will be canceled. Student arrival and dismissal times:
If conditions remain so severe that it is deemed unsafe to implement the delay schedule, all transportation will be canceled and a school closure will be announced. Therefore, it is important to stay tuned to your radio or television station, and/or check the website often for the information. We ask for your cooperation and support of this policy. It is very difficult to predict and make provisions for the foggy weather that occurs in the San Joaquin Valley. Our interest is to provide a safe situation for all students and to minimize disruption to the educational process.
