Family Techonology Night

Lakeside School and Suburu School are proud to offer Family Technology Night. This is a great opportunity for parents/guardians to experience some of the technology your student uses at Lakeside such as Accelerated Reader, Type to Learn, and document storage. Also, a review of the school website will inform you of parental resources, the school calendar and much more. The focus of the evening is to help parents/guardians learn how they can assist their student with technology in school. Seating is limited, so please call the school office to reserve a space. We hope to see you there.computer kid: computer teacher:

Wandering Around the Web

With the almost infinite number of websites in cyberspace, the job of finding homework help seems intimidating. To access free, subject-specific study aids, supplemental lessons, and homework help, here are some of the best websites:

  • Ask Jeeves Kids - is the student version of the Ask Jeeves search engine. It has each section divided by subject, as well as a link to current news (middle school and up).
  • Yahooligans - is the student version of Yahoo. It has a parent's section, teach Internet safety (upper elementary/middle school). http://kids.yahoo.com/
  • Go Math - one of many math resources on the Web, not only has a supplement algebra, geometry and physics, but also has SAT math practice tools and an online help board (middle school and up). www.gomath.com
  • Physlink - a physics website, has stories of physics in the news, concepts with examples of how physics applies to real-life situations. www.physlink.com
  • For links to over 100 homework help websites, go to www.refdesk.com/homework
