Homework

My homework policy ...

Each Monday, students will be given a homework packet, which is due on Friday morning. In it students will find a reading page with comprehension questions, a grammar page, and sometimes it will contain a math page.

The packet will also always contain a spelling contract. The spelling contract will vary from week to week, as to what is expected, but the students have the opportunity to earn a Spelling grade for the week on homework. This homework grade is 40 of the 90 points allotted each week.

Spelling may contain:

Stairstep the spelling words:
for the word chair the student would write: c ch cha chai chair

Alphabetize the words

A crossword puzzle

A word search

Study with a parent

Various other activities

Usually on Monday through Thursday nights students will be given math homework, which is due the following day.

Periodically students will be assigned studying for a science or social studies test.
