Welcome to Kindergarten!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Suburu School! We are looking forward to a great year! We want the year to go as smoothly as possible for you and your child. feel free to revisit this page for future reference. If you have any questions, send a note with your child or call the school. We are looking forward to working with you and your child this year!
1. The school phone number is 665-8190.
2. The school colors are red and silver. Our mascot is the bobcat. We have a monthly color day when children are to wear school colors.
3. School begins at 8:15. Students will be dismissed at 1:45. Please send a note or call the school no later than 1:30 to let us know if your child has a change in the way he/she is to go home. It is imperative that your child is picked up promptly. Do not park in any red zones when picking up your child. The Police Depatment frequently issues tickets.
4. Breakfast ($1.40) and lunches($2.00) are served daily. School lunches should be paid for in advance are preferred to daily purchases. Milk is also available for $.25 for children bringing a home lunch.
5.Birthdays are very important to your child. You may bring a treat for the whole class to celebrate your child's birthday. Your child's teacher will make arrangements to celebrate birthdays (including summer birthdays).
6. Backpacks are a big help in getting things to and from school and home. Please put your child's name on the backpack (full size, no wheels for Kindergartners) and any clothing he/she any need to bring to school.
7. Please send a light balnket or a towel in your child's backpack for rest time. The blanket will come home each day so that you may launder as necessary.
8. Whenever it is necessary to send money to school, it should be in an envelope with your child's name and the purpose of the money.
9.Toys are not allowed at school unless directed by your child's teacher.
10. We welcome you to help in the classroom. We appreciate your help, however classroom time is for learning. We cannot accomodate younger children.
11. Parent and teacher communication is extremely important. Our school has scheduled conferences at the end of the 1st quarter (early November) for all parents and at the end of the 3rd quarter (late March) as needed. Teachers or parents may request a conference at any time for any reason. We encourage you to maintain good communication betweeen home and school.
